Bruna is a paratactic assemblage of mismatched elements: remnants, fragments and objects left without a function. An IKEA stool with a broken leg, a scaffolding base plate from a construction site, the hitch pin of a trailer that had been sold, and an LED tube recovered from another project. Brought together, these elements are neither concealed nor transformed, and retain their identities. They remain recognisable and find a new balance through their relationship with one another. Bruna is therefore a seat (or perhaps a small table, a valet stand or a lamp) constructed through juxtaposition, in which what was separate, incomplete or unused is recomposed into a new figure.

The element that gives stability and coherence to the whole is also the only one that remains invisible: a small device designed and fabricated specifically for the project, holding together parts that would otherwise have no reason to belong together.

Bruna was exhibited as part of F/A – In Da House, an event co-curated by FakeAuthentic and Davide Tommaso Ferrando for Open House Torino 2026, at Casa del Custode, designed by ErranteArchitetture and ELASTICOFarm.
